Job Overview: We are looking for a dynamic, skilled, and experienced Engineer 3 – AV & IT to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV and IT control systems. The role requires a strong technical background in AV systems, IT infrastructure, and the ability to ensure seamless operation of our products in real-world educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Setup: Install and configure AV control systems (wall-mounted keypads, touch panels, lectern-mounted systems, and TV cart systems).
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support, diagnose issues with AV and IT systems, and offer timely solutions to ensure minimal downtime for our clients.
- Maintenance & Calibration: Conduct regular maintenance and system updates to ensure that all AV equipment and software are functioning optimally.
- Training & Documentation: Conduct product training for staff and users, providing clear instructions on how to operate the AV systems effectively.
- System Upgrades & Integration: Assist with system upgrades and integrate new AV technologies into existing setups, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales, design, and project management teams to ensure smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all installations adhere to company standards, quality guidelines, and client specifications.
- R&D and Innovation: Keep abreast of the latest AV technologies and industry trends to help improve our product offerings and service delivery.
Key Requirements:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Audio-Visual Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in AV system installation, maintenance, and support within an educational or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in AV system integration (control panels, touch panels, projectors, sound systems, video walls, etc.)
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking and system troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with various AV technologies such as HDMI, IP-based control systems, wireless control interfaces, and room automation.
- Knowledge of building control systems and how AV integrates with these environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical details to non-technical users.
- A customer-focused attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Familiarity with AV software platforms and control systems like Crestron, Extron, or AMX is a plus.
- Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA) or IT support experience is an advantage.
